Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes would like your views on draft plans for a mix of around 260 homes on land off Bateman Road, Hellaby.
Recently updated Government policy has doubled Rotherham’s housing targets, and this site can play a part in achieving these targets.
This development would provide a mix of two, three, and four bedroom properties, providing choice for first-time buyers and growing families.
A planning application is being prepared, and we want your feedback, before this is submitted to the Council.
All feedback will be considered as part of the emerging plans.

The site is allocated as ‘Safeguarded Land’ in the Rotherham Local Plan and has been released from the Green Belt and set aside for longer term development.
The proposals comprise a sustainable mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom housing, within a landscaped setting.

Access from Bateman Road and Cumwell Lane
Delivery of high-quality homes
Retention of existing mature trees around the site and an existing hedgerow within the western extent of the site

Provision of visual screening through an extensive green buffer along the site’s southern and eastern boundaries and a planting buffer to the north

New areas of public open space and provision of Local Areas for Play (LAPS)
